Nicaragua

Return home from Nicaragua

Back in the states after a week long trip with Austin to Nicaragua. Pics to come. Stories as well. But i'm putting it out there (well, here really) so that I have made a statement to myself that I will follow up with more details.

Sometimes you just have to give yourself short homework assignments in order to get the ball rolling with life time goals.

Current endeavors: Maintaining and making progress with my Spanish speaking abilities. Learning how to spin Poi. Sticking with the 4HourBody diet. (Which I took a break from for my week vacation.)

Current homework assignments: Use websites Austin has given me to practice conjugations on the fly. Do 5 to 10 minutes of Poi at least twice a week. Go buy a kettle bell and read up on how to do my exercises.

Weight and meals

Weighed myself for the first time in a long time (probably about a year ago). Weighed in at 138 pounds. More than I'd hoped. It was at the end of the day though so I'm hoping I'm more around 135. But once again, trying not to focus on the number too much. I'll get a scale and weigh myself first thing Sunday morning (my cheat day for this week) to see how I compare evening to morning.

Side note on breakfast. Finding it harder and harder to get up in the morning with enough time to make breakfast. Could I install a water gun to shoot me in the morning?!? Will work on ideas for that coming up. Perhaps just a good slap in the face.

Planning for Nicaragua - 9 More Sleeps

Austin and I are taking a trip to Nicaragua October 14th - the 25th. One of Austin's friends recommended a language school called Spanish Ya in Playa del Sur, Nicaragua. She's a flight attendant and uses the camp as a way to brush up on her speaking skills. Austin and I are both in need of some lessons as he has been back from Peru for months and I haven't had much practice since being in Spain in August of last year.

Spanish Ya's program will be all inclusive so all of our meals, accommodation, and lessons will be paid upfront and will take care of the majority of the cost we expect to come across while there.

9 More sleeps. (At work we countdown to big evens by the number of sleeps until our big day.)

We plan on scuba diving, hiking a volcano, surfing, eating delicious food and learning spanish. Many pictures to come (hopefully Austin will bring his awesome camera on the trip).

¡Estoy muy emocionada!

Week 1 is Done

Week one is done. And it wasn't as hard as I thought. Hardest part of last week was for sure when my boss brought in fresh bagels and cream cheese.

Making sure I eat enough protein in the morning will also be a challenge. I haven't given myself enough time to make the food. I'm usually out of bed at the last minute, hop into clothes and i'm out the door. So this diet will require some lifestyle changes. Doing something for one week is a lot different from making a commitment to change your ways. This will be a good test for me.

Coming up in 10 days is Austin and my trip to Nicaragua, this will be a huge test to see if I can follow my diet down there. Most likely i'll have several cheat days (in the 12 day span) but Austin is following the same diet so perhaps we can help each other not cheat.

OK, Measurements.

Monday

Thigh: 23.5
Bust: 35.5
Hips:36.8

Tuesday

Hips: 37.0 (After stuffing myself with dinner)

Cheat Day

My first cheat day consisted of coffee with sugar and cream mac and cheese from one of my May's Counter for breakfast.

For lunch I had a turkey, bacon, avocado, cream cheese, sprouts and tomato sandwich from Baggin's Gourmet Sandwiches. Along with two chocolate chip cookies. Yum.

For dinner I had ? (To be remembered)

That night I had an assortment of Ale's, probably about 5-6 beers.
