Sunday Sunday sunday

August 22nd 2010

Mama miles' birthday is tomorrow and I hope it is a wonderful one. If you can give her a call and tell her happy birthday- I think she is avoiding celebrating this year.

So far Madrid has impressed me. There are always people out on the streets. If you want to get anything done you have to do it before 2 because from 2-5 it is siesta time and people close shop and take a nap or a break from work. The tourist attractions all have some free time atleast once a week so Caroline and I have been working our schedule around these times so I haven't had to pay to go to museums or anything else. And the Metro is awesome- I would never have to own a vehicle. Or would I want to because the city traffic confuses me. With the metro I am able to get anywhere that I need in a matter of minutes. Such a nice change from having to drive everywhere.
Foods i have consumed: kebab and egg dishes so far. Caroline has been feeding me and then I insist upon doing the dishes.
What else? I've only been here a few days but I can already tell why this place is home to so many. It makes me question whether Tucson is the place for me. I haven't decided yet if I want to live in a city but if so I would need to be one where I can get around easy on foot. Cause I am so over "miss pris" and paying for car insurance.... But that is a whole nother story.

For tonight I will do laundry and rest my feet after a long day of walking to the Sunday marketplace, the park and all over the city.

Ciao!

  1. Great to hear you are having such a great time in Espana! I am sure that the lovely Miss Quintanar is a wonderful hostess. And don't get too attached to Madrid just yet, you still have at least three other countries to fall in love with before you come back to the States! And I would agree, the Metro is wonderful. Most European cities have great public transportation. LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU! Ciao!
